Oregon HB 4142 Fails to Pass the Senate
Posted over 2 years ago by Bill Schueler
Despite passing Oregon House last week, HB 4142 failed to be referred to a Senate committee prior to the end of the 2022 legislative session on Friday, March 4th. HB 4142 would have added hospital workers to the professions in existing Oregon law where it is a Class C felony to intentionally or knowingly cause physical injury.
Valiant efforts were made to move this bill forward this year and we were able to expand our supporters from our previous efforts, starting in 2015. Thanks to everyone who supported the bill this year and took time to provide testimony and write their legislators.
The Oregon House and Senate Republican Caucuses released statements regarding HB 4142.
The Oregon ENA and the Oregon Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians issued a joint press release.
